Land Myrtle Beach State Park, where the situation is
rain. I backed into the space under the watchful eye of ML and hit a
tree, She says "I never thought you'd back into the tree!"(mls
input: It was a big tree. Easy to see. He never pays attention to
my directions anyway! If you can't see a tree, you shouldn't be driving!) |

6/23 - 6/27 |
Went to the beach, got sunburn, went shopping for new
parts for the RV, got a chair for ML and hit the Buffet at Crabby Mikes!
More beach and sun. Have to leave, because the place is full and the 4th
is coming. |

Now at Briarcliff, next door to Barefoot Landing. ML got
new bathing suit, ate outside on the lake. |

On to Hollywood, SC (South Charleston) Hit

Tues 7/1 |
Lazy day....naps, lunch, naps, dinner, nap, bed JW
met the neighbors, ML read a book. ML sees woman having trouble breaking
camp and sends JW to the rescue. |

JW supplied tools for neighbor to break camp and take
trailer to son at new homesite. Going into the business of setting
up and breaking camp? |

Pack up and head out for Edisto Beach State Park,
arrived to a herd of mosquitoes, bit 20 times just getting unhooked. |

Great day, so we did the beach. Beware of undertow! |

On to the Oak Plantation, nice park we will stay for the
week end. Did Best Buy to replace Maxine with a new GPS |

Went to Folly Beach. Surfer and precision kite flying.
Complaints of undertow again. |

Sun 7/13 |
On to James Island County Park, delayed as we wait
for draw bridge. Park has a doggie beach and park, and are
holding a battery sailboat regatta Huge place. Went to water
park. |

Mon 7/14 |
A little cloudy, ML returns to water park, Tried to
negotiate extended stay, they are still working on it. Dinner at La
Carreta. Yes we can stay if we move everyday! |

Promises to be a great day, sail boat races
and a doggie park with a beach. |

Spent the night in the overflow lot |

Evan, Misty, Jon came to campground for a
day at the pool & water slide. Dinner at La Carreta.
Evan got into fire ants. |

Move again. Misty, Jon, and Evan come to the
water park again. Grilled hamburgers and had corn on cob. |

Cloudy, so went shopping for new Sirius,
then returned it (miraculous recovery of old one),
then dinner at the Golden Coral |

Did beach then big rain with shoes
floating down the road, firewood is adrift, the water's halfway to the
step, "It's a hell of a day at sea, Sir." |

We went back to Barefoot Landing, ate at

Enough is enough, so it's good bye to the
spacious skies and hot sands of Myrtle Beach, headed to the Outer Banks. |

Sun 8/3 |
After a stopover at Surf City, a placed best
forgotten, we head for Cedar Island, Gateway to the Outer Banks.
We start our search for favorite lighthouses. We are
treated to a private ferry ride to Cape Lookout Lighthouse, the last of the day.
Saw wild horses on smaller islands. After return ferry, drove on to
Cedar Island (Skeeter Island) and had dinner at the Driftwood. |
Keepers
kept the lights on and were duty bound to rescue. |
Mon 8/4 |
We boarded the
Ferry for a 2 hr. run to Ocracoke. ML met a bunch of bicycle
riding school teachers to play cards with (Phase 10) on the trip, they tipped us to
lunch at Howard's Pub. Then a troublesome search for the Ocracoke Lighthouse, the
oldest and the smallest, only 77ft. Free ferry to Hatteras. Spent night
there. Bad wind storm tore awnings off two of the campers. |

We found the new location for the Cape
Hatteras Lighthouse then headed to Waves, NC. Stayed at a KOA where we met the real
Atlantic Ocean. and Shore line. Clean water from the center of the
ocean touches the shore, free from sand and pollution, its crystal clean |

Beach & Pool then to Down Under for Dinner. |

JW to the Beach, along with everybody else. |

A big day as check out Bodie Lighthouse,
then we lunch at Applebee's in Nags
Head and then a drive through traffic to Currituck Lighthouse and then
to Williamston NC, a stop along the road. |

Green Acres, Cute campground for locals,
camped at Lake Myers, great place for Mocksville NC folks. |

Mon 8/11 |
Visits to Nails Salon, Sprint, Subway and on
to Wytheville, best air on the whole trip.. |

From Wytheville then to Newark via Shoney's |
